The Blue Beetle
The Blue Beetle aired from May through September, 1940. The radio show was based loosely on a comic book character of the same name. In the radio show, the Blue Beetle was a police officer who realized that the police couldn’t fight crime effectively without assistance. Like Superman, he’d duck into an alcove, and slip into his crime fighting suit.
